Michael is a veteran of the Electric Utility Industry in the fields of project management, engineering, energy patents, regulatory processes and resource management. He has worked in various project management and resource management capacities for both public and private California Utilities which deliver electricity and natural gas. He also sold and supported mechanical engineering modeling software for many companies in the Silicon Valley. Michael graduated with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and graduated with a J.D. in law from the University of San Francisco.
Michael has specific experience in the following areas:
1.) Obtaining FERC operating licenses for hydroelectric generation facilities including Environmental Analysis and Operating Conditions negotiation.
2.) Project management of both expense and capital projects at electric generation and electric transmission facilities.
3.) Creation of business cases (economic and regulatory evaluation) for the construction of new electric generation facilities including hydroelectric, wind, solar, wave, tidal, and natural gas.
4.) Resource evaluation and resource acquisition for an Electric Utility.
5.) Acquisition of renewable energy credits for hydroelectric generation projects.
6.) Negotiation of natural gas commodity purchases using NAESB and ISDA based contracts.
7.) Negotiation of electric power purchase agreements between Electric Utilities.
8.) Patent acquisition for electric energy storage projects.
9.) Regulatory expert and published author in the field of weather modification in California.
