The Niagara Falls City Council has voted to enact legislation and zoning codes relevant to the establishment of solar energy generation in the city. The new law was designed following legislation suggested by the state to encourage clean energy development and is designed to govern solar generating systems not integrated into residential structures.
The solar energy law was unanimously recommended by both the city and Niagara County planning boards.
