Wind power was responsible for providing almost 50% of Ireland’s electricity in October. In an exciting announcement, Wind Energy Ireland has announced that 47% of the country’s energy needs were met by wind power. 33% of Ireland’s yearly energy total comes from renewables, namely wind power. Due to the increased use of wind energy, wholesale electricity prices have dropped. Average monthly rates for the month of October dropped to €136.27. Ireland will continue to work towards a greener future with renewable energy options.
