Hawaii Solar-Plus-Storage Project Inches State Closer To Renewable Goals


The 30 MW, 120 MWh Hale Kuawehi project is the first renewable project to begin producing power for Hawaii Island in nearly a year.

Hawaii is coming closer to its renewable energy goals with the commercial operation of a solar-plus-storage project on the island of Hawaii.

The 30 MW, 120 MWh Hale Kuawehi solar-plus-storage project will produce power exclusively for the Hawaii Electric Light Company under a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Hawaii Electric Light Company, the local utility serving the island of Hawaii.
