Saudi Arabia’s Energy Minister, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, met with Morocco’s Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, Leila Benali, in Riyadh to discuss areas of shared interest, including cooperation in renewable energy and energy efficiency.
Following the talks, the two sides signed an executive program to advance collaboration in renewable energy under the memorandum of understanding on energy cooperation agreed between the Saudi and Moroccan governments in May 2022.
The program is designed to strengthen bilateral ties and expand mutual investment by enabling national companies from both countries to develop and implement renewable energy projects domestically and in third markets. It outlines cooperation across renewable power generation, energy storage, grid integration, electricity transmission, and grid development, while supporting the integration of renewable energy into infrastructure and development projects.
