Spain Launches EUR-212m Scheme to Prepare Ports for Offshore Renewables

Spain will offer EUR 212 million (USD 246.9m) in grants to adapt state-owned ports for offshore wind and other marine renewables in an effort to strengthen logistics capacity and build a domestic industrial supply chain, the ministry for the ecological transition said on Wednesday.
The funding, financed through the EU’s NextGenEU recovery program, will support upgrades at ports of general interest to enable the large-scale manufacture, assembly, deployment and maintenance of offshore wind turbines and marine energy devices, including tidal and wave technologies, the ministry said.
