Experience
Lara Gabriele, Attorney: Lara heads up CLP’s climate change & carbon finance group. She recently returned from a sabbatical where she worked in the Emissions Trading Scheme Operations Group at the New Zealand Environmental Protection Authority.
Moreover, she has extensive experience in counseling the Carbon Finance Unit of the World Bank on drafting emission reduction purchase agreements for the purchase of carbon credits in Chile, Uruguay, Nicaragua, Honduras, and Argentina. Throughout her six years at the World Bank, she worked directly with the Fund Management Team of the Carbon Finance Unit to establish and implement the Carbon Partnership Facility, the Bank’s post-2012 fund for the purchase of long-term emission reductions.
Prior to working at the World Bank, Lara worked in the area of corporate, antitrust, international trade, financial services, and project finance at two leading international law firms.
Lara received her J.D. at the University of Texas School of Law and her B.A double majoring in History and International Economics from the University of San Francisco graduating summa cum laude. Lara speaks fluent Italian and Spanish.
