Experience

Tim Evered is Of Counsel at Cleantech Law Partners. Tim is an experienced energy-sector attorney who helps developers, contractors, project owners, and operators navigate the complex legal and contracting landscape surrounding renewable power projects. With more than 20 years of diverse experience supporting energy projects and facilities, including wind, solar, and biogas, Tim combines deep industry knowledge with a practical, creative approach to supporting project delivery and reducing risk.

His experience includes preparing and negotiating EPC, O&M, fabrication, transportation, and other project agreements—ensuring that projects move forward efficiently and within demanding commercial, schedule, technical, and safety requirements. Tim also helps energy clients manage the regulatory and cross-border challenges that accompany the transition to low-carbon power. He advises on international trade compliance, sanctions, export control, technology transfer, and climate-related regulatory developments.

His experience includes:

  • Dispute resolution and arbitration
  • Project contracts, including EPC, construction, service and supplier agreements
  • Trade compliance matters, including export control assessments and licensing
  • Engineering and professional service agreements
  • Project implementation issues and disputes
  • Carbon emissions reporting and compliance
  • Technology use and licensing agreements
  • Property lease and sublease agreements
  • Commodity and power purchase agreements
  • Telecommunications
  • Power plant operations and electric utility matters
  • Transaction due diligence
  • International transactions

As a regional general counsel for an international engineering firm, Tim supported power projects through the full project lifecycle—from early-stage development and procurement strategies to contract structuring, regulatory compliance, construction, dispute resolution and operations. Tim has led legal support for project contracts involving solar installations, onshore wind facility infrastructure and energy-storage systems.

Tim has served in key in-house legal roles with an internet service provider, a power retailer and an electric utility, where he gained extensive experience across distributed generation, energy-efficiency initiatives, telecommunications infrastructure, and technology licensing. His background in both private practice and in-house environments gives him a unique ability to align legal strategy with commercial and project priorities.
