Experience

Tony Lebe is Of Counsel with Cleantech Law Partners. He has extensive experience in all aspects of the development, financing, construction, operation and ownership of portfolios of renewable energy projects and has structured, negotiated, drafted, and closed over $1 Billion of solar energy and energy storage projects. He has also represented clients in the purchase and sale of developed projects, performing thorough due diligence on potential acquisitions to identify risks and take actions to eliminate or mitigate them, and in sourcing debt and equity finance from traditional banks, institutional tax equity investors, high net worth individuals, and large utilities. He understands what makes a project financeable, how to pragmatically resolve the various issues that affect most energy projects, and how to move a project from development and design, through construction, and into successful commercial operation.

Tony has extensive experience in structuring, negotiating and drafting tax equity and debt agreements, power purchase agreements (“PPAs”), solar renewable energy credit (“SREC”) agreements, participation and development services agreements, real estate purchase and sale and lease agreements, engineering, construction, and procurement (“EPC”) agreements, operation and maintenance (“O&M”) and performance monitoring agreements, in addition to a wide variety of other commercial agreements.

Tony has served as General Counsel to independent power providers (“IPPs”), investment firms and family offices focused on developing, owning, and operating renewable energy and energy storage assets. Prior to joining Tioga Energy to build and run its Legal Department, Tony practiced at several boutique law firms in the San Francisco Bay Area where he focused on energy, environmental, infrastructure development, real estate, construction, energy efficiency, licensing and general corporate matters.
